Wine and runnning Solar Fire (windows version) on MacOS X BigSur

https://brew.sh/ and copy/paste install into iTerm/Terminal

Restart Mac if the notice appears re updates require restart.

in iTerm/Terminal

brew tap gcenx/wine

brew install –cask –no-quarantine wine-crossover

Need MFC40.DLL for Solar Fire for Windows https://www.esotech.com.au/

• In AppStore - Download/Install Xcode (needed for winetricks)
• in Iterm/Terminal type: xcode-select –install
• brew install winetricks

Download EXE File ie SolarFireDemoV8.exe into ~/Downloads folder

Open wine crossover, this will open a terminal screen.

wine ~/Downloads/SolarFireDemoV8.exe

Follow the install process.

Once complete, hopefully the program will auto start. To run it manually:

wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files\ (x86)/Solar\ Fire\ Demo/Solfire.exe
